  • Brenda Dixon

Benda, along with her husband Bobby, have been attending Greenwood Hills since 1982. She and Bobby raised two daughters (Kathy and Jamie) at Greenwood Hills and are happy that both girls and their families are actively involved in their own churches. Brenda was the church secretary in the 1980’s and in the 1990’s before taking a full-time job with Guilford County Schools(GCS). She retired from GCS in 2010 and her secretarial job at the church became open again in 2014. Once again she became the office secretary to Pastors Matt Mitchell and Thomas Canfield. Brenda says, “Things are a lot different in 2014 than they were in the 80’s!” Today we have a state-of-the-art computer and color copier that can do everything except wash dishes and take out the trash! Back in the 80’s she typed the bulletin on an electric typewriter at home, cut and pasted clipart, and ran the bulletin on a black & white copier. But it’s been an exciting 34 years at Greenwood Hills. Brenda feels like her gift for the Lord is being a secretary. Bobby said, “It was like throwing a rabbit in a briar patch!”
